Poetry on the Porch happens on a Sunday of each month 3:00 to 5:00.
We meet monthly as a group to enjoy the beauty and authenticity of the written word. We invite you to read original work (completed or in progress), share your favorite poem, or just relax and listen. When weather permits, we love our covered porch with a roaring fire and lap blankets, but, if you hate the cold, never fear!
We have indoor spaces when needed.
This is a FREE event offered by Pinecone Studio. Donations are welcome.

Warm-up with several timed, quick sketches expanding to 10 and 20 minute poses. Join us. Materials not included. Drawing mediums only, please. Tables and chairs provided. Limit of 10 per session.

ZentangleTM is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns, called ‘tangles’. These are created by drawing combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs. These basic shapes are the "Elemental Strokes" in all Zentangle art, and in no time you will be creating amazing images you never thought possible.
Cathi Belcher, a certified ZentangleTM teacher, will show you the basics of ZentangleTM drawing. You will collect pattern inspiration from the outdoor space that surrounds Pinecone Studio. You’ll bring these natural elements into the Studio where Cathi will show you different patterns and shading techniques that will make your images come to life.
Learn how to adapt your ZentangleTM directly onto cards, note paper or home decor. No prior skills are needed.

Often we like to collect seeds from our flower and vegetable garden to enjoy the next year. James Sylvester will share his printmaking skills to help you create decorative ways of storing seeds. Design your seed symbol and stamp labels onto small containers or small envelops. This is fun and colorful way to share your favorite plant seeds with friends.

Hand Bookbinding is a slow, thoughtful process and an ancient art. In this 3-hour workshop, we will talk about handmade paper and have the opportunity to each make a sheet of paper which, when dry, will cover a small pamphlet. Most of the class will be spent creating a small leather bound journal. Many other simple book forms (5 in all) will be taught, such as a small accordion book, pamphlet, Japanese Stab binding and a Zine. No prior experience is necessary. There will be written instruction as well as in-person demonstrations for each step. Copious handouts will be given so that you can continue to make books at home
